Rev. Raymonda R. Speller is Pastor of the Community Congregational United Church of Christ in Montgomery, AL. A lifelong-learner, Rev. Speller has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Culture from Howard University and the Master of Divinity degree from the Duke Divinity School.
He has also undertaken graduate coursework in Leadership and Management. Rev. Speller’s heart beats for transformative ministry empowered by love and prophetic proclamation. In his tenure as pastor of CCUCC the congregation has experienced spiritual revival and renewed commitment to relevant, life-changing ministry in the local community. Some examples include: revamping traditional Benevolence ministries and creation of new justice and advocacy work; implementing L.I.F.E. (Lifting Individuals and Families to Empowerment) classes for community members on topics such as Financial Literacy, Anger Management and Effective Decision-Making, housing the city’s first-ever continuous diaper and wipe bank as a partner of the “Express-O of Love” organization; partnering with a small group of religious organizations to buy and forgive more than $3 million of medical debt throughout Alabama, strengthening partnerships in education by hosting promotion ceremonies, sending students from partner schools to camp for free, institution of daytime Senior Adult programming which offers local seniors nutritious food, fun, fellowship and loving attention from member volunteers several times each month (pre-COVID), and much more.
Rev. Speller’s greatest joy comes from being the husband and partner-in-ministry of Krystle Speller, also a graduate of Duke Divinity School, and the father of three amazing children.
Thank you all so much for everything that you do to support us mothers out here.
Rev. Speller and his family have been a driving force of Prayers and Blessing to Express-O of Love Diaper...
